<description>Clearly I&#039;ve been doing a lot of creepin&#039; around Hollaback these days (I&#039;m really glad you guys are back!) and this BTB business is exactly what&#039;s been on my mind for... well, a while now. I don&#039;t have a job right now, so I&#039;ve been devoting hours and hours to my blog, yet I feel like I&#039;m getting nowhere. I started out a long time ago on tumblr and at some point I made the switch to WordPress, then I kinda forgot about it for a while and started back up again on tumblr. I need to switch it back to WordPress but the time it will take to make the switch is very intimidating so I keep putting it off. Thanks for the advice!

<description>Completely agree with you, the backend coding and doing other things to tweak and fix your blog is not an easy work and as you say it, there is nothing to show for the hard work you have put in. But still there are a few things that should be on our priority list:

1) Backing up the blog - I take a full weekly backup of the blog, files and everything and i take the database backup in two ways, one from the sql and another from the XML backup option in wordpress panel.

2) Updating the blog - Old and outdated files is a host for welcoming trouble. The blog must be running on the latest version of the CMS and so must the plugins, else it will be inviting hacking attempts.

3) I do tweaks from time to time and that requires some free time. It is hard work because am no coder, it took me hours to get the social media buttons placed in the codes, for wordpress it could have been just a plugin but for my CMS, it took me hours of coding. But it is important that we keep doing this on a regular basis to make our blogs look exactly like we want it to.

about this questions,
Does making more BTB time mean you might have one less post this week?

I have some solution for this problem:

1) You can schedule the posts, say one day you write two posts. Schedule the next post for tomorrow, and use the &quot;tomorrow&quot; to do the backend work.

2) Hire writers or allow guest posts, that way you will never have a dry day of posting even if you are sweating out at the backend codes.

But i agree with you, backend work is more important than having an extra post, so if you have to sacrifice a day&#039;s worth of post to get the backend work done, so be it. And, i have done that plenty of time this week because there was plenty of backend work to do that could not have waited any longer.</description>
