Last week, I started the discussion on negative blog comments by sharing my Health Blog Helper guest post on writing to avoid negative comments. But, like the Backstreet Boys — OHMYGOD THEY’RE BACK AGAIN.

My second guest post in this series is now up on Health Blog Helper: How Do You Respond to Negative Comments? I hope you’ll check it out because I think there is some valuable info in the post, including…
- The different types of comments and why they warrant different responses.
- When you don’t have to respond.
- How to respond if the commenter has a point.
- How to move forward.
This is my personal policy but also the policy I shared with all the Hollaback girls after we started getting negative comments. I definitely think it’s a crucial part of blogging well. And I’ll be back with more discussion on this topic later this week!
So check it out, mull it over, and share your thoughts!

I think negative comments can be productive and thought-inspiring if they are said the right way. They don’t have to be mean. I think that crosses the line.
